Last season an NBA official, Danny Crawford, dubbed LeBron James a “respectful” player. This was because LeBron received 0 technical fouls last season. Despite his conversations with the referees, the NBA champion never went “overboard”. But this may seem like a thing of the past tonight. The Los Angeles Lakers took on the Sacramento Kings on Saturday night at the Golden 1 Center.
LeBron James was given a technical foul by the NBA referee. And he did not seem happy about that at all.

The Lakers legend went up to the referee and questioned the decision. He was visibly annoyed and seemingly raised his voice to put his point across. He was seen in a bitter confused mood, unhappy with the referee’s explanation. LeBron shook his head in disagreement and threw his hands up in the air. LeBron also appeared to say, “I got locked in man“.

Technical fouls are defined as fouls that are usually given to players if they have a poor sense of conduct. This could range from arguing with an official to taunting one’s opponent.
This season, LeBron James has increasingly got heated with the NBA referees. In November 2022, LeBron James slammed the officials for the way they called a game. He said, “Last game I got bumped, knocked off the path a few times, and at halftime, the refs came to me and told me they missed it“. And according to LeBron, this has been happening for a while.
At another point in tonight’s game, he was also bringing the referees’ attention when he got hit in the hands. He tapped on his hand vigorously as an indication for some whistle to blow. It never came.
