Basketball is a physical sport and often gets very aggressive. The players playing inside get emotionally attached to the game and sometimes even lose control of it. Not just local players, but even professional NBA players sometimes get into fights for the same reason.

Sometimes the fights end quickly with words thrown around, otherwise, it takes an ugly turn with even punches being thrown around. How players react to other players trying to provoke them and get them fouled out shows their real composure. Recently, a Former NBA star Brandon Goodwin got into a fight mid-game and lost his composure.
NBA star lost his cool in a pro-am league
NBA stars train themselves not just physically but even mentally to remain cool during the game. Once the voices start getting to players’ heads mid-game, there’s no going back. Even NBA players resort to violence then, which leads to chaos. A similar problem happened at a Pro-am league in Atlanta. Former NBA star Brandon Goodwin, who played for the Nuggets, lost his cool in a game.
He ended up punching Bones Hyland, the first-round rookie from Nuggets. This led to a very ugly fight and scene happening in Atlanta. Although being in the NBA and playing at the highest level, the NBA star resorted to violence. This could potentially end up shattering his reputation as a professional player of this stature.

There have been many ugly incidences of players losing cool in a game as well which has led to even suspensions from games. Earlier, the NBA games were very physical and the aggressive gameplay used to be at the top.
Now, the NBA has introduced various rules and regulations with multitudes of fines to avoid violence and make the sport as clean as possible. The Netflix documentary- Malice in the Palace is based on a similar situation where NBA players and even fans brawled each other. It is one of the rather infamous incidences in the history of the sport.
