This season, Luka Doncic has been making a case for himself to win the league MVP. While Luka is continuing his terrific form, the same can’t be said for the Dallas Mavericks. With the All-Star break almost here, the Mavs are still fighting for a position in the top eight teams in their conference.
In their efforts to crack the top eight, the Mavs are facing off against the Memphis Grizzlies tonight. The Ja Morant-led Memphis Grizzlies are 13-13 so far and hold the ninth seed in the West. However, in tonight’s game, Doncic and the Mavericks are looking like the better team.
Luka, who is known for his fabulous scoring prowess, has been a bit quiet tonight. However, he still gave NBA fans a dose of his superb skill set. During the game, Doncic dug deep into his bag as he tore through the Grizzlies defense. He capped off the play with a cheeky fake and drained a mid-range jumper.

The Mavericks are looking comfortable out there; they even had a double-digit lead by the end of the third quarter. It’s unlikely that they will fumble this lead and should easily register the 14th win of the season.

Can Luka Doncic lead the Dallas Mavericks to a good seed in the West?
Last season, Doncic got his first taste of an NBA postseason. Although the Mavs were eliminated in the first round, Doncic impressed the whole league. As a result, most sports pundits expected him to lead the organization to a good record this season.
While Doncic has held up his side of the deal, the other Mavs players have struggled to find their form this season. Unless the supporting players elevate their game, it’s hard to see the Mavericks make a deep playoff run this season.
