Anthony Davis and LeBron James are the backbone of the current Los Angeles Lakers team. When the two superstars play well, the whole team gets going. While Davis had an underwhelming game against the Grizzlies, LeBron picked up the slack.
Despite not having a good game overall, Davis flaunted his skill-set in the second quarter. He pulled off a fancy mid-range jumper that left fans in awe.

AD had a tremendous game in the Lakers’ previous fixture against the Spurs, but this time around, he had just 17 points while going 6-of-15 from the floor. Moving forward, the Lakers would expect more from their All-Star big man. However, Davis has already proved his worth in the last season.
He led the team in scoring while knocking up some big shots in the playoffs. So far this season, he is averaging 21.7 points per game which he would like to improve as the season proceeds. With this victory against the Grizzlies, the Lakers are now 5-2 this season and are finally looking like the defending champions.

The former #1 pick is a generational talent and there are no doubts about that. But before joining the Lakers, he never had a deep playoff run with the Pelicans. Once he joined the purple and gold, everything changed for Davis.

He became an NBA champion in his very first year with the purple and gold. Furthermore, this offseason, he signed a humongous contract that will lock him in with the franchise for the next 5 seasons.
Davis’ rise to the top is very good news for the purple and gold franchise. With LeBron James turning 36-years-old a few days back, Davis is the future of the illustrious team.

The Lakers are known for taking care of their players, and they will do the same for Davis. If he and James can deliver a ring for the franchise this year, it will be a dream come true for the LakerNation.
