The Los Angeles Lakers just cannot seem to catch a break. They have been riddled with injuries to LeBron James and Anthony Davis, and have just not been able to develop any sort of chemistry at all.
And to rub salt in their wounds, they have been struck by the injury bug again. In the game against the Utah Jazz, Anthony suffered another injury. And it did not look good.

He went up to catch a lob from Malik Monk and he landed back on Rudy Gobert’s foot. This caused his ankle to twist in a bad and Davis was wreathing on the floor in pain. He stayed down for a long time. Since he was unable to stand up on his own, his teammates took him to the locker room. Probably the worst part of all of this is that he is unable to put any weight on that foot.
AD has already missed multiple games this season and this injury did not look good. The ankle roll was bad, and it looked like it may have been broken. The Lakers cannot afford to lose AD for a long time as they are currently in the ninth spot in the West. If they lose any more ground, they may be out of the playoffs. Davis is currently being evaluated by the medical staff according to sources.

Anthony Davis and his history with injuries
Davis is, without doubt, a once-in-a-generation talent, but he has struggled with injuries throughout his career. In his first four years with the Pelicans, AD never played more than 70 games in a season. He had a variety of injuries, ranging from shoulder to ankle to hand to the back. Then he had a couple of injury-free years as he produced MVP-type seasons.

After his move to LA, he remained relatively healthy when the Lakers won the championship in 2020. But the last two years have not been good as AD missed half the season last year as well as the playoffs due to injury. This led to the Lakers’ elimination in the first round.
