The Wizards started their 2020-21 campaign with a meager 0-5 (1-7 including pre-season) and showed early signs of weaknesses. They managed this forgetful record even though their leading duo almost always performed well. Russell Westbrook was a little toned down in the offensive end, but Bradley Beal was always there to cover for him.

In the last couple of weeks, the Wizards have struggled more than any other team in the league. They’ve dealt with injuries and health and safety protocols that sidelined many of the key bench players, eventually leading to many losing streaks. Bradley Beal helped Russell Westbrook’s 41-point effort with a stupendous clutch performance and seemed more content than ever. There was visible relief on his face, and perhaps that forced the Wizards’ organization to feel positive too.

The cameras caught him shaking his head in utter disbelief and disappointment. Even his wife had posted her unhappy reaction on Twitter. Even before that, the NBA’s highest-averaging star this season had said that his team can not even guard a parked car.
