A two-time Executive of the Year, Bob Myers will finally be stepping down as the general manager of the Golden State Warriors. Myers has been with the organization for 11 years and did wonders for the team.
After announcing that Bob Myers will be stepping down as the GM, owner of the $3 billion worth Warriors, Joe Lacob decided to give him a proper farewell, while clearing some things out as well.?
During the press conference, Lacob said, ?Kevin Durant. We lost that horrible series in 2016. It?s hard to even think about it and talk about it, to be honest with you. And I won?t say a lot other than Bob Myers was on the job, pretty fast. And it all worked out.?

Who actually brought Kevin Durant to Golden State?
After their defeat in the 2016 NBA Finals, Draymond Green did exchange texts with Kevin Durant. Green had been courting Durant for months and after their loss, the Warriors’ defensive anchor made sure to leave nothing to chance.

Warriors? owner Joe Lacob also said in the interview, ?And yes, a lot of other people had a lot to do with it in the organization. It?s always a we thing. But it wouldn?t have happened without Bob,?and we owe him that.?
But even though Bob Myers did the heavy lifting, it was Green who initially got the ball rolling. And it turned out to be a huge success as the Warriors won back-to-back championships, solidifying Durant?s signing with Golden State.
