The influence of Stephen Curry on the Golden State Warriors is immense. Despite losing their Play-In game against the Los Angeles Lakers, the team depended on Curry to provide the spark for the franchise. Accordingly, he carried the team during the NBA regular season with an incredible display of his shooting ability. A major reason Curry had to shoulder all the responsibility was because of Klay Thompson being out of action. However, according to the latest reports, the shooting guard is expected to return soon after his long-term injury.

Klay Thompson will return soon

Thompson being injured has been an immense blow for the franchise as they’ve struggled without his offensive output. He ruptured his ACL back in 2019 while competing in the playoffs against the Toronto Raptors. More setbacks followed, as he later suffered an Achilles injury, hence missing the 2020-21 NBA campaign. But, he is coming back.

NBA analyst Shams Charania recently shared an update stating Thompson could be back in action come December. This would be splendid news for the fans and coaches of the Warriors.

“I’m told the Warriors are targeting December for Klay Thompson’s return,” said Thompson.

The team has undoubtedly felt the lack of Thompson’s presence as the Warriors bench was not strong enough to contend with other teams in the league. Thus, his return would mean a lot to the franchise.

Can he get back to his best?

Achilles injuries are career-threatening as players often find it hard to regain their movement. Kevin Durant came back from the same injury but seems to have recovered completely considering his performance in the recent season. This scenario would certainly motivate Klay to do well.

Apart from shooting the basketball, Thompson plays tight defense for the team. His lateral quickness is incredible and he is one of the best perimeter defenders in the league. He averages 19.5 points while having a three-point percentage of 41.9.

To sum it up, he is important.
