A core member of the Golden State Warriors might be leaving the defending NBA champions soon. Recently, a report emerged on social media suggesting that a four-time NBA champion is expected to leave the Warriors for a new challenge with the Los Angeles Lakers.?The player expected to leave the Stephen Curry-led Warriors is none other than Draymond Green. It looks like his time with the Warriors has come to an end and he is ready to take on a new challenge in Los Angeles alongside LeBron James.

Draymond Green is reportedly expected to join LeBron James and the Lakers

Recently, one of the Western Conference executives told NBA Insider Sean Deveney that Green would leave the Warriors and join the Lakers this summer. He said the following about the Warriors forward to Deveney, “Hard to say what you could get for Draymond at this point because he can be a free agent, and everyone assumes he?s going to the Lakers next summer…”

Another Western Conference executive shed some light on the recent trade rumors. He said that the chances of the 32-year-old landing up with the Lakers are “pretty strong”.

Green signed a four-year contract extension worth $99 million with the Warriors in 2019. Therefore, his contract would come to an end this summer. Though he still has a player option worth $27.6 million for next season, many believe that he would not accept it. Therefore, the NBA world could possibly see the 32-year-old in a brand-new jersey next season.

The four-time NBA champion is certainly one of the best players to step on the hardwood. While he might not be a prolific scorer, Green is a versatile defender who could help his team down the court. On top of that, he is also a vocal leader, capable of motivating his teammates on the hardwood.

Therefore, if the former DPOY ends up with the Lakers this summer, he would certainly be able to help ‘King James’ with his defensive prowess. Currently, the four-time All-Star is averaging 7.9 points, 7.5 rebounds, and 6.8 assists so far this season.
