A lot has changed since the Golden State Warriors lifted the NBA championship last year. Today, the defending champions are struggling to find success in the regular season due to a plethora of crucial injuries and a lack of depth in the squad. Consequently, in an effort to address the latter before the trade deadline, Steve Kerr and Co traded for Gary Payton II, a former Warrior who left in the off-season. But certain complications regarding Payton’s health have left the trade at a standstill.
However, according to a recent Woj bomb on Twitter, the Warriors seemed to be making some serious accusations that might start new drama in the league. Subsequently, the NBA world had a meltdown after the polarizing development.

Hours before the NBA trade deadline, the then 28-26 Warriors, who were under the spotlight, decided to pull the trigger on a massive trade. To help Stephen Curry and Co, the top brass orchestrated a four-team trade with the Detroit Pistons, Atlanta Hawks, and the Portland Trail Blazers to get rid of James Wiseman and reacquire Gary Payton II from the Portland Trail Blazers.
However, a major roadblock surfaced after the trade went through. A failed physical examination by the Warriors determined that Gary Payton II suffered a severe abdominal issue that could sideline him for three months. Consequently, the Warriors approached the league office and shared with the NBA that the Trail Blazers withheld vital information about the 30-year-old guard’s health. This resulted in the trade seemingly getting voided.

According to an ESPN report, the Warriors will work with the league to complete the four-team trade and continue to pursue Gary Payton II’s withheld medical information accusation on the Trail Blazers. In essence, the Warriors will have to decide before Sunday and arrive at a resolution with all the stakeholders involved.

Can the warriors be fined and owe portland compensation for starting fake rumors that can make it harder for them to make future trades due to trust?

League should punish the warriors if it comes out everything was done proper. The Karen franchise of course comes from Cali.

I like this framing: on one side you have the evil Blazers (boo, hiss!), on the other you have the warriors ‘working with the NBA’ to soften the blow of their poor deadline negotiation. https://t.co/v6EOBQX1CW
