Dennis Rodman shockingly struck a friendship with Kim Jong-Un, the leader of North Korea, when he visited the country for an exhibition game. This was during a tough time between North Korea and the U.S. So, Rodman received a lot of flak for visiting North Korea and befriending its dictator. The Chicago Bulls legend and the team that traveled to the country went live on TV to clarify the situation. During the show, an emotional Rodman suggested that his actions could one day create new avenues of friendship between the two countries.

Then in 2018, when the two countries had a historic summit, Rodman once again appeared on Live TV and shared his excitement. He was also very emotional and talked about the death threats he received for his friendship with Kim Jong-un. Interestingly, he was wearing a “Make America Great Again” hat during the interview.

The two-time DPOY also claimed that former President Barack Obama brushed aside his request to have a call with Jong-un. However, he was happy that then President Donald Trump made the decision to talk to the North Korean leader. Over the years, Rodman has revealed some interesting moments with Jong-Un and has always spoken candidly about him. Apparently, the leader was a huge fan of the 90s Bulls team which helped Rodman’s diplomatic goals.

Rodman’s claims about Vladimir Putin

Dennis Rodman also considers Donald Trump as a friend. The five-time NBA champion has worked with Trump in one of his shows. As per a report from Sports Illustrated, Rodman once said, “I like Donald Trump. I don?t like him as a president, but he?s f—–g cool as f–k. Donald Trump makes me laugh. He tries to be this holier than thou guy, and I kid him about that every time I see him, I don?t look at him like the president, I look at him like a friend. He can carry a torch with me anytime, someone who I can sit down, chit chat, and have a beer with.”

Rodman once claimed that Russian President Vladimir Putin invited him and they had a two-day “blast”. The Worm talked about this during a podcast appearance a few years ago. Rodman alleged he attended a fashion show with Putin who was surrounded by models. He added the set-up was unbelievable, and he spent two very good days with the Russian President. Despite the tensions between the U.S. and North Korea and the U.S. and Russia, Rodman was apparently able to befriend the leaders of North Korea and Russia. It looks like Rodman doesn’t really have any borders.
