Memphis Grizzlies guard Dillon Brooks and Golden State Warriors star Draymond Green exchanged verbal jabs over the last week and ultimately confronted each other during last night’s game between the Warriors and Grizzlies at FedExForum. Though both of them locked horns with each other, they avoided any physical altercation. Amid headlines about the budding rivalry between the Grizzlies and the Warriors, a well-known critic of the Dubs, NBA legend Charles Barkley expressed his concerns for Green in the midst of a serious situation.
Green and Barkley has some history off the court as the former Philadelphia 76ers player has often ridiculed the Warriors over the years. Even recently, Barkley got into a verbal altercation with the four-time NBA champion as he took a dig at the Warriors, saying they were ‘cooked’ for the season. However, the 11-time All-Star seemed to be concerned about the former DPOY due to his current state.

In a recent episode of NBA on TNT,?the crew reacted to the beef between Brooks and Green. When it was Barkley’s turn to address the beef, he said that anyone could say whatever they feel like about another person in a sit-down interview or a podcast, but they have to keep some level professional respect for each other. He also had a vital reminder to relay to Green.
During their confrontation at the end of the first half, Dillon Brooks seemingly tried to provoke Green to trigger a technical foul after a lay-up. But the four-time All-Star cleverly avoided the bait and didn’t receive any tech. The former DPOY might have saved himself last night but according to Barkley, he has to be more careful in the near future.
The 11-time All-Star added, “Draymond got to be careful though because they are in a very serious situation and his next tech is a suspension and then you…” This made Ernie Johnson remind everyone that Brooks, with 16 techs and Green, with 15 techs, are two of the players with the most technical fouls this season.
Green on not falling for Brooks’ bait
In the post-game interview, Draymond Green said, “He[Dillion Brooks] thought he would bait me like he gets baited. I get technical fouls when I want to get technical fouls. I don?t get baited into technical fouls. So I think that?s probably the difference between me and him.”
