Tracy McGrady was one of the top Shooting Guards to ever play the game. He had a huge impact on every team he played for. McGrady joined Shaquille O’Neal on his podcast recently. They talked about a number of things on The Big Podcast with Shaq.
Tracy McGrady revealed how Shaq would call him every time they played against the Los Angeles Lakers. Apparently, Shaq used to cause beef among Kobe Bryant and Tracy McGrady. Shaq used to do so by taunting McGrady with things Kobe used to say.

Tracy McGrady explained “Anytime Lakers would come to town, Shaq would call me. He’ll try really add fuel to that fire between me and Kobe and say some things that Kobe says.”

Kobe Bryant and Tracy McGrady were both shooting guards. Therefore, there was always competition among them. They were on championship-contending teams. Both their goals were to win the championship, so they were always at each other’s throats.
However, their competition was extremely healthy. They pushed each other to be better. When asked about Tracy McGrady, Kobe said “He could do everything I could, but he was 6’10. He had no weaknesses in his game, he could score from anywhere and defend. He’s the hardest player I have ever had to guard.”

Tracy McGrady’s legendary career
Tracy McGrady was considered a player with one of the highest basketball IQs. He was extremely important in bringing fame and popularity to the Orlando Magic franchise. He did the same for Houston Rockets.
Tracy McGrady was inducted into the Hall of Fame in 2017 for this immense contribution to the sport. Tracy was also a 7-time All-Star. He was also the league’s leading scorer twice. He won the scoring titles for that feat. Additionally, he won the Most Improved Player in 2001.

Tracy McGrady had a slow start to his NBA career. He had very low playing time on the Toronto Raptors. However, once he got traded to Magic, he became one of the most lethal scorers in the league. Furthermore, after his trade to Houston Rockets, he made that team a constant playoff contender. Tracy McGrady, along with Yao Ming made the Rockets a contender in the modern NBA.
