With most of the NBA world fiercely debating for their GOAT pick between LeBron James and Michael Jordan after the four-time NBA champion’s latest feat, Jay Cutler also joined the party on the latest episode of his Cutler Cast podacst.
Consequently, over the entire length of the discussion, the two analyzed and approached the debate from various angles, such as championships, MVPs, legacy, and more. In the meantime, a major point of discussion also appeared to be the level of competition Jordan and James faced in their careers. Matt, who ardently stood in King James’ corner, argued that the level of competition today is superior compared to what MJ faced in the 90s. After backing his argument on the basis of an advanced gene pool and more athletic players in modern times, Matt further solidified it by including Bronny James in the conversation.?
Interestingly, as Matt unveiled, the 18-year-old son of LeBron James has amassed an impressive athletic feat that even prime MJ couldn’t achieve. He said,?“When Jordan came into the league, he was the most athletic person they have ever seen; now there are guys on YouTube who are more athletic than Jordan. LeBron James’ son is 6’2” and just did a through-the-legs dunk in a game something Jordan never could do. In a game at 17 years old.”
Subsequently, Matt and Cutler further glossed over various other factors in the episode. Matt stood strong with his GOAT pick of the Los Angeles Lakers forward, whereas the former Mr. Olympia winner remained neutral in the conversation. However, despite Matt’s shocking claim of Bronny’s impressive athletic feat being beyond MJ, the 6x NBA champion was no slouch in his hay days. Apart from all the record measurements at his time, the Hall of Famer was also a phenom above the rim. In fact, many consider ‘His Airness’ to be one of the greatest dunkers of all time.?
Michael Jordan’s insane athleticism
Coming into the league, the Chicago Bulls legend was touted as one of the greatest prospects ever at the time. Likewise, he recorded an unprecedented vertical leap of 48 inches in the draft combine at just 6’6”. The 6x Finals MVP could also freakishly perfectly palm a basketball. Consequently, after entering the league, he dominated the competition for over a decade.?
