Bronny has received a great deal of limelight after his recent brand ambassador deal with Beats by Dre headphones. He also signed an endorsement deal with Nike following in the footsteps of his father. However, Bronny caught the attention of the recruiters at the collegiate basketball level when he rose to the ranks from sub-50 recruit to borderline top-40 recruit during the AAU summer.

The younger James’ impressive performances have generated interest from elite colleges like Ohio State, USC, Memphis, and a few others. Unlike his father LeBron James who had merely two college options in Duke and North Carolina, Bronny has eight possible colleges to choose from. While James chose to try out for the NBA straight out of high school, Bronny and his family seem to be in favor of him attending college first.

Possible college options for Bronny James

About six years ago, Duke and Kentucky reportedly presented standing offers to Bronny, when he was just a teenager. However, it is unclear if either school maintained contact with the rising basketball sensation. Meanwhile, reports suggest that Memphis, Ohio State, and USC have a vested interest in Bronny and extended him an offer.

In addition, North Carolina Central and North Carolina A&T are the only ones publicly known to have extended offers to Bronny. However, one of the Nike-sponsored schools Oregon is believed to be the frontrunner in the race to secure Bronny James to their college basketball team, reports indicate. Moreover, Michigan, led by former Miami Heat coach Juwan Howard, is also reportedly in the race for Bronny James.

Bronny also has options of playing for the NBA G League Ignite and the Australian NBL if he chooses to go pro right after high school. However, as suggested by his mother Savannah, and father, LeBron James, Bronny is likely to attend college next year.

LeBron James might have to wait for Bronny’s arrival in NBA

Bronny’s decision to attend college may prove to be a little tough on his father. LeBron James has expressed his desire to play with Bronny on the same NBA team. The four-time NBA champ also offered to take a pay cut for the team who picked Bronny in the NBA. However, with Bronny heading towards college, James might have to wait a few more years to achieve the feat.
