Jrue Holiday and Milwaukee Bucks are grabbing all the headlines right now. This is because the shooting guard signed a whopping max contract extension with the NBA franchise.
The Athletic’s Shams Charania first broke out the news a couple of hours ago. And now the Bucks will pay him $160 Million over the course of the next four seasons to avail his services. Naturally, Twitter got in on the act and reacted to this news –
Former NBA player-turned NBA Analyst Kendrick Perkins is a massive fan of Jrue Holiday. He’s consistently praised his importance on both ends of the court. Hence, he thinks that Holiday is worth his weight in gold.

Not just because they are teammates now, but Khris Middleton has been a fan of Holiday’s game for a long time. And after the former Pelican signed his max deal, he had this to tweet to remind us that –
Still relevant!! 🤦🏾♂️ https://t.co/pgujTJZ9IK

Milwaukee Bucks fans express their delight with ‘underrated’ Jrue Holiday
The general reaction from the fans to his max extension was positive. They recognize the work that Jrue puts in on and off the court in Milwaukee. He could be the Scottie Pippen to Giannis Antetokounmpo’s Michael Jordan.
Jrue Holiday has been everything the Bucks have hoped for and more. On the court and off, he’s a damn superstar. Happy he’ll be part of our community for the next four years. #FearTheDeer

With this, the Bucks have locked in all three of their All-Star caliber players. Giannis put pen to paper on his max deal in this off-season, his contract runs still 2026. On the other hand, Khris Middleton’s is signed to Bucks until the summer of 2024. They are now the key pieces to their title chances.

And now the Bucks’ front office has locked in Holiday till the end of the 2024-25 NBA season. Though the final year of this deal is a player option and he could opt out of the deal if things go south.
However, this deal also attracted some criticism from some sections of the fan base. Holiday has not been an All-Star for the past few seasons. So, spending a Kevin Durant-esque of the cap space on him may hamper the Bucks in the long run.
Bucks spent $300M on Khris Middleton and Jrue Holiday. I hope it was worth it guys

Admittedly, a big 3 of Giannis, Middleton, and Holiday doesn’t strike fear in the opponents in the mold of the Harden-Durant-Irving trio. Only time will tell if the Bucks made the correct decision here or not.
