The 37-YO guard JJ Redick announced his retirement yesterday after playing for 15 seasons in the NBA. In his last season, Redick was traded to Dallas Mavericks, and soon after the season ended, he has officially exited the court.

In the 2006 NBA Draft, Redick was the 11th overall pick by Orlando Magic. In all, he played for 6 teams throughout his career including LA Clippers, Philadelphia 76ers, New Orleans Pelicans, and other stints. He averaged 12.8 points per game during his career’s regular-season games. Known for his shooting from beyond the arc, Redick has stunned many in the league with his abilities.

During his young days, JJ made an impressive appearance in the ACC tournament and set numerous records. He is a 2-time ACC tournament MVP as well as a 2-time ACC Player of the Year. After getting drafted in the league, Redick caught hold of his strengths and became an asset to each team he played on.

In a recent video posted on his Instagram account, JJ Redick said goodbye to the league. In response, several NBA players including Bradley Beal, Dwyane Wade, Seth Curry, CJ McCollum, and others commented on his post and tweeted their reactions.

Most NBA players have staged JJ’s prominence as one of the best teammates. His shooting coupled with teammate mentality made him an important piece in the puzzle. Dwyane Wade and several other players have congratulated Redick’s 15-year career with enthusiasm.
