Brooklyn Nets starlet Kyrie Irving has come under a lot of scrutiny off late. The 29-year-old has made some personal choices, which has created some differences with his team. Owing to this difference of opinion, the franchise has declined him the right to feature with them. Kyrie has come under a lot of criticism from fans and analysts, but has received the total support of his teammates. And now, Kevin Durant has come in support of him against a fan’s undue criticism.

Kyrie’s season last year was marred by injuries. After an exit that was hard to digest, the side worked very hard in the off-season. However, the former Celtic has opted not to change his decision, leaving him in deep waters. Since the Nets have issued an official statement against his participation, the player will now have to find a new home. This has seen many individuals question him and his quality.

Kevin Durant defends Kyrie Irving against fan online

Recently, New York Times best-selling author Andre posted his opinion of Kyrie Irving on social media. He lashed out at the 7-time All-star’s haters, claiming “So y’all saying Kyrie Irving ain’t top 75? I agree… he top 20 at least.” While many had their say in the comments, one fan in particular went on to hit out at the love shown to the star. But Durant had none of it.

The fan quoted, “Kyrie really seems to be a hooper’s hooper. I love Kyrie’s game but hoopers LOVE Kyrie’s game.” He indirectly meant that although Irving has quality, he is perhaps rated too highly at times. Meanwhile, 33-year-old Durant hit back at the fan, boldly stating, “Cuz u a casual [Because you’re a casual].”

It is great to see the former Warriors icon continuing to show his unabashed care for his teammate. The Irving-Durant-Harden is undoubtedly one of the most sensational trios to exist. Sadly, their partnership will end soon. Or will it?
