One of the biggest debates in the world of sports is the Michael Jordan vs LeBron James debate. While this issue is talked about extensively week in and week out, the debate hardly ever concludes.

Although LeBron James might have the better stats when compared to Michael Jordan, the one thing which Jordan fans use against James is his losing record. James has lost numerous NBA finals and many fans blame it on his lack of the “killer instinct”.

Although MJ and LeBron are hard to compare, the one thing which puts Jordan over LeBron is the NBA finals record. LeBron has lost as many finals as the number of titles Michael Jordan has, that is, six.

Many fans blame it on his lack of “killer instinct”, which on the other hand, drove Jordan to achieve his spectacular finals’ record.

Tyronn Lue played with Michael Jordan during the dawn of MJ’s career and he had a lot to say regarding LeBron. Talking to The Athletic, Lue bashes the “killer instinct” claim.

He said, “Whenever (LeBron’s) back’s against the wall, he always produces. You have to have a killer instinct to be able to do that. Just because you’re not talking stuff, and you’re not in people’s face… I just don’t understand. Why does that mean you don’t have a killer instinct?

Interestingly enough, Lue has coached LeBron James during his Cleveland days while also having played with Michael Jordan. Safe to say, he has seen both sides of the debate.

Speaking of stats, LeBron is the clear winner. LeBron ranks above Jordan in terms of points scored, rebounds, assists, and blocks. Despite all that, Jordan still has the highest points average ever.

LeBron averages 27.1 points, 7.5 rebounds, and 7.4 assists in 19 seasons. On the other hand, MJ averages 30.1 points, 6.2 rebounds, and 5.3 assists in 15 seasons.

When talking about titles and accolades, there is only one winner. Jordan has won 6 NBA titles with the Chicago Bulls and the NBA Finals MVP award 5 times. Apart from that, he has also been MVP in all 6 finals he has played in.
