The Los Angeles Lakers icons LeBron James and Magic Johnson are two players whose names rhyme with greatness. A two-time WNBA MVP, who considered King James to be top-3 in her book, recently compared her legacy to that of the four-time champion. Moreover, she even drew a parallel to Magic while explaining what she wants to strive for in the future.
The two-time WNBA MVP is none other than the Las Vegas Aces superstar Candace Parker. The two-time WNBA champion recently appeared on a podcast and revealed the reasons behind feeling like the female version of James and Magic.

In the latest episode of The Draymond Green?show, Candace Parker joined Green and talked about a plethora of intriguing topics. During the show, Parker revealed that people call her the Kevin Durant of the WNBA for joining the Las Vegas Aces. Meanwhile, the seven-time WNBA All-Star stated the reason for her switch, “I don’t want to play 40 minutes… I’m cool winning near my family, picking me off the court- playing for a dope organization, in a dope practice facility with stuff that I’ve never had in my career.”
In light of this, Green asked her whether her joining the Aces was different from KD joining the Golden State Warriors. Parker replied affirmatively to which Green said, “So you’re saying what you did is more LeBron than KD.” The former Sparks forward replied, “I’ll be honest – yes. I think LeBron made it to the Lakers for yes, career-wise but also business-wise. Like he’s talking about wanting to be a billionaire.”
The two-time WNBA champion indicated that she and James joined a new franchise after winning multiple championships, unlike Durant, who signed for Golden State looking for a chip. The seven-time WNBA All-Star also considered herself the female version of Magic as she wanted to find success on and off the court like the 12x All-Star.
The now 36-year-old subsequently added, “I want to be female Magic Johnson.” Following this, she opened up about the things she wants to set her heart on, “I want to be a businesswoman and I want to take female sports and female athletes and have them looked at differently in tech, in investment, in just business in general.”
Parker was once grateful to Magic
In 2014, the Sparks were on the brink of moving out of LA but the five-time champion came at the right time and bought the franchise with an investment group. Two years later, the Sparks led by Parker won a championship for the first time since they won it in 2002. The two-time MVP, shortly after the 2016 WNBA Finals ended, hugged the Los Angeles Lakers legend and exchanged a few words with him. She said, “Thank you so much for believing in us…Thank you…”
