The Phoenix Suns continue to build momentum with consistent wins ever since the ‘Slim Reaper‘ Kevin Durant joined the team. Extending their winning streak in the Western Conference, KD faced his former team, Oklahoma City Thunder in the city he used to call home. Though the 6’10 forward put on a show, OKC’s heartbreaking loss triggered their fans to continue their hate towards him.
Amid several teams battling their way for the remaining playoff spots, OKC’s loss has put them in a grave situation. With less than a week left before the regular season ends, fans believe OKC’s future in the play-in is in doubt.

Shai Gilgeous-Alexander’s dominant performance yet again went in vain as the Thunder lost their second straight game. Moreover, standing as the 10th seed, consecutive losses like these can push the team down considering the competitiveness in the Western Conference. The Dallas Mavericks who are battling their way to find a play-in spot could make use of OKC’s loss, however, Kyrie Irving and Luka Doncic have been unable to bag crucial wins either.?
Kevin Durant dropped 35 points, 5 rebounds, and 5 assists to bag a crucial road win. Standing as the fourth seed, KD and the Suns are a couple of wins away from sealing their spot in the playoffs. However, the crowd’s gestures towards the two-time NBA champion on his return were the highlight of the game. During his eight-year tenure with the OKC, KD was a star and the fans’ favorite. However, his sudden departure in 2016 left the Thunder fans heartbroken.
After conceding a heartbreaking loss in the 2016 Conference finals to the Golden State Warriors, the 2014 MVP went on to join them the very next year. KD’s sudden decision left the NBA world in denial, throwing shade at him for a good number of years since his departure.
