Finally, the ambiguity around PJ Tucker has concluded with a happy ending for the NBA veteran. As per the latest reports, Rockets have traded PJ, Rodions Kurucs, and 2022 first-round pick (back to Milwaukee Bucks) to acquire DJ Augustin, DJ Wilson, and a 2023 unprotected first-round pick.

Moreover, in case the Bucks’ first-round pick from 2023 goes beyond nine, the Rockets can swap its 2021 second-round pick in exchange. The downtown did not stop there as they also let go of Torrey Craig to the Phoenix Suns. All these movements overnight obviously attracted tweets that mostly showcased a mixed reaction.

For the Rockets, this current season is close to over because they’re already on a 17-game losing streak that will turn 18 if they lose against the Warriors tonight. They dismantled their roster in 2020 after the departure of coach Mike D’Antoni, GM Daryl Morey, stars Russell Westbrook and James Harden.

It was obvious that they’ll use this season to rebuild, and PJ’s trade became the latest addition in that direction.

From Ben Steele to Jen Lada and many others, reactions came flooding once the news became official. Check them out!

Apart from PJ, the underperformer in Rodions Kurucs had to leave the franchise after playing just 11 games for them in the current season. They will have long hopes, especially from DJ Wilson, who promises an effective perimeter shooting and some defensive ability.

How is PJ Tucker going to help Giannis Antetokounmpo and men?

The 35-YO player is not necessarily having a good time as long as his worsening numbers are concerned. He is currently averaging a career-low 4.4 points at 36.6% from the field.

However, that can have a lot to do with his lack of motivation to play with the Rockets for a long time. He longed for a contract extension which he did not receive, and that forced him to look elsewhere.

For the Bucks, he is a win-win because he is exactly the package that they were looking for. The man has enough experience, having played for three teams, and his leadership ability can help the squad. Plus, Giannis Antetokounmpo would welcome the floor spacing and the defensive strength that the 245 lbs 6’5” power forward can bring.
