The world often turns to influential people in times of need. In one such gesture, an NBA star stepped up to the occasion to ensure that the people who are the most affected by the Oklahoma tornadoes are taken care of. The 20-year-old was in Shawnee, Oklahoma, to assist the community affected by the April 19 tornado that caused massive damage to the central Oklahoma town.

The Oklahoma City Thunder star donated accessories and much more to the kids who are hit by the natural disaster. Showing gratitude for his grand gesture, the recipients and organization members thanked the French international.

Young NBA star melts hearts with his sweet gesture for people in need

Recently, the state of Oklahoma has had one of its worst phases in terms of facing natural calamities. It was reported in the month of April that at least eight confirmed tornadoes in the state cost lives as well as destroyed houses and livelihoods. Whenever people are struck with such a disaster, they’re in dire need of a turnaround, and this time it came from OKC Thunder star, Ousmane Dieng.

The French national who represents the state of Oklahoma in the NBA poured his heart out for the people affected by the tragedy. It was reported that Dieng donated over 500 pair of shoes, and sporting gear including basketballs, and has provided financial help.

The 20-year-old is reaching people through the help of three different organizations working for the same goal. The total amount of Dieng’s donations is said to be upwards of $200k. Not just that, he also made sure that his generous donations are not the only thing people receive.

For this, Dieng was personally available at the centers where he engaged in some game time with the kids. Additionally, he also helped those kids pick their shoes and helped them forget about the disaster for the time. His grand gesture was met with appreciation from several organization workers. Stacy McDaniel, executive director of Cleats for Kids said, “It’s an example for all of us,” what Dieng is doing.

She also said that Dieng’s humanity might inspire the kids that he is helping today which will be beneficial for a better future.
