While the attention of the world would have been on LeBron James’ imminent moment of glory, Jeanie Buss’ cryptic gesture towards Dwyane Wade diverted some fans’ attention. This prompted them to reflect about the same on social media.

The NBA world could not pinpoint any single reason behind the gesture last night and construed it in various ways.

A fan page related to the Lakers shared a short clip of Buss gesturing toward LeBron James‘ ex-teammate. The page captioned the post, “WHAT THE HELL IS JEANIE BUSS DOING TO DWYANE WADE?!” In the video, the three-time champion could be seen sitting courtside, in front of Buss with the 61-year-old gesturing towards him.

It was a quick pat on his shoulders, followed by a rub, with Buss removing her hand a few seconds later. The Lakers owner and Wade were giggling and interacting with each other in this clip.

The exact reason behind Buss giving Wade a pat on his shoulders is unknown.

Despite LeBron James making history, the Lakers lost the game 130-133 bringing their total to 30 losses in the 2022/23 NBA season. Following last night’s defeat, the Lakers sit at the 13th position in the Western Conference table.
