The Cleveland Cavaliers took on their long-time rivals, the Golden State Warriors, as they looked to end their two-game losing streak. But Stephen Curry spoiled the Cavs’ night as he dropped 40 points in a tight game. However, this was not the worst nightmare for Cavs fans as the troubling sight of their $163 million star gave them a massive scare.
The Cavs started off the season with a loss, but since then they’ve gone on an eight-game winning streak. The Cavs made a massive move in the off-season to get Donovan Mitchell from the Utah Jazz. With this trade, the Cavs had arguably one of the best lineups in the league and one of the deepest squads as well.

But their road trip has been a letdown as the Cavs have now lost three games in a row. Furthermore, they have blown leads in each of those games. In the game against the Warriors, the Cavs had an 11-point lead but they failed to build on it and they allowed the Golden State Warriors to crawl back and take the game in the end.
But this defeat was not the most concerning part for the Cleveland Cavaliers.
Cavs suffer Donovan Mitchell scare as Stephen Curry erupts for 40 points
At the end of the game, the Cavs suffered a major scare. They were down by 5 points with just seconds left in the game. Donovan Mitchell drove in near the baseline and he seemingly twisted his ankle. He was on the ground for a while and he had a tough time getting up. Mitchell went to the bench holding his ankle and it did not look promising.

Spida has been spectacular for the Cavs so far and he has been leading them from the front. He has averaged over 31 points on over 50% shooting from the field and over 40% from three-point range this season. The Cavs cannot afford to have Mitchell sidelined for a long time.

Meanwhile, Stephen Curry continued his impressive start to the campaign as he scored 40 points in consecutive games. Curry was sensational in the closing moments as he hit the game-tying shot before hitting the go-ahead basket too. He then followed it up with a dagger to seal the game.
