The Los Angeles Lakers lost their second consecutive game of the regular season against the Los Angeles Clippers. Lonnie Walker (26) and Anthony Davis (25) led the scoring charts in the game, but couldn’t steer the team to their first win of the season, following their opening night loss to the defending champions, the Golden State Warriors. Russell Westbrook had another horror outing for the Lakers as he scored a mere 2 points at the Crypto.com Arena.
Westbrook finished the game 2-4-3 in 27 mins. After the game, the NBA community on social media had big reactions to his performance vs the Clippers.

Russell Westbrook has arguably struggled with the Lakers ever since his arrival in the summer of 2021. The Lakers had crashed out of the playoffs in the first round itself and decided to sign the ‘Triple-Double King’ to boost their chances of a championship. However, things haven’t worked out for both the Lakers and Russ since then.
Westbrook went 0/11 from the field and 0/6 from the three-point arc against the Clippers. LeBron James, Anthony Davis, and Lonnie Walker IV’s efforts went in vain.
NBA fans troll Russell Westbrook for 0/11 shooting in Lakers loss vs Clippers
This is just the second game of the season and two straight losses are possibly not something for fans to worry too much about with a long season ahead. However, everyone saw what happened to the Lakers last season.
Westbrook’s poor shooting vs Clippers led to plenty of reactions from NBA fans on Twitter:

Austin Reaves and Juan Toscano-Anderson, who started off the bench for the Los Angeles Lakers, managed to score more points than Russ. Westbrook found it difficult to adapt to the team’s playing style last season, and that played a major role in the Lakers not making it to the playoffs. He will be looking to bounce back in their third game vs the Portland Trail Blazers.

Lakers heavily dependent on LeBron James and Anthony Davis
Russell Westbrook and Patrick Beverley managed just single digits in the loss against the Clippers. LeBron James scored 20 points and bagged 10 rebounds, while Anthony Davis finished the game 25-8-0. However, during the third quarter, Ham decided to bring out AD and James, and that turned out to be a big mistake.

The Clippers went 17-0 in the absence of Davis and LeBron in the third quarter. Both returned and cut down the lead to just eight points before the final quarter. However, the Clippers managed to handle the duo in the fourth quarter and eventually won 103-97. Their eighth successive win over the Lakers.
