The Los Angeles Lakers can?t seem to break the slump as they have lost four games in a row. With a record of 0-4, the Lakers really seem to be down and out. The first couple of losses were pointed directly at Russell Westbrook?s inconsistency. However, their most recent loss to the Denver Nuggets can?t be blamed on him. Russell Westbrook was ruled out of the game due to an injury, so it was just AD and LeBron from the big three.

The Lakers have had a very tough time at the start of this season. Going 0-4 is bound to turn some heads. With ?The King? on the team along with one of the best power forwards in the league to help him, they still can?t close out games.

An Anthony Davis trade would be a step back

The Los Angeles Lakers shot 25-118 from the three-point arc for their first three games. It seemed as if they could not shoot threes to save their lives. And it has continued to this point so far. The Lakers lost to the Denver Nuggets 99-110.?

And they shot 26.7%, going 8-30 from beyond the arc for that game. LeBron James had a tough game as he went 2-8 from the three-point line. Still, he notched up 19 points, 7 rebounds, and 9 assists for the game.

The highest scorer for the Lakers team was star power forward Anthony Davis. Davis shot 11-19 from the field, scoring 22 points, 14 rebounds, 5 assists, 3 steals, and also 2 blocks against the Denver Nuggets.

It seems as if Davis has been consistently pouring it in night in and night out. However, one former Laker tends to disagree. Ex-Los Angeles Laker Lamar Odom thinks that the team should trade away their star power forward Anthony Davis.

Davis has been dealing with a few injuries since he joined the Lakers squad. And he has missed a major chunk of games in the past few seasons. But when he is healthy, he is an absolute threat to the defense.

But Lamar Odom thinks otherwise. He said, ?Kobe would say, ?Yo, trade that motherf**ker if he ain’t gonna be out there.? Odom is a huge fan of Davis, but with Davis only playing 76 games in the past two seasons, made him think that Kobe would’ve wanted him gone.

Looking back at the career of Bryant

Kobe was a competitor. And as good as Davis is, Bryant would’ve wanted a player who is healthy enough to put in the effort. Rather than a great player who is riddled with injuries and is on the bench.

Because looking back at Kobe Bryant’s career, he has had a talented big man playing alongside him for most of his time in the league. He had one of the most dominant centers, Shaquille O?Neal, with whom he won three NBA championships. And then he went on to win two more NBA championships with Pau Gasol, a talented power forward.

Trading one of the team?s centerpieces who is a consistent scorer is not the way to go. By the looks of it, the Lakers might be willing to trade Russell Westbrook instead.
