“Trade Him I’m Done”: Angry Lakers Fans Turn on Russell Westbrook As He Struggles to Make Open Shots

Russell Westbrook was one of the top athletes in the league. Even though he has never been that great of a shooter, he was consistently performing earlier. He was considered one of the top point guards in the league during his time on the Oklahoma City Thunder.

Westbrook was regarded as an extremely explosive player in his early days. It was fun to watch him play, as he was always driving in for dunks and scoring triple doubles. He was consistently scoring clutch baskets with the Thunder. However, his career has been on a downward spiral ever since he left the Thunder.

His performances for the Houston Rockets and Washington Wizards were good, but nothing to write home about. Westbrook has won an MVP Award, Finals MVP, and has been selected to numerous All-NBA teams. Therefore, fans will always be expecting a higher level of play from him.

His time on the Los Angeles Lakers has been totally inconsistent. He has had a few performances where he was scored very well. However, he seems to be struggling to make an impact in a majority of the games.

Frustrated fans have taken to Twitter asking the franchise to trade the player.

A huge chunk of the fans appreciate Westbrook for the great seasons he had with the Thunder. However, they claim that he is now a washed-up player and, according to some fans, he should be moved out of Los Angeles.

A lot of fans have joked about how his eyesight must have gotten worse due to age. Fans are hilariously tweeting how Russell Westbrook needs to get a pair of glasses to shoot the ball properly. Westbrook has been missing a lot of open shots.

Since Westbrook has been missing open shots, fans have started calling him ‘Westbrick’. A shot is called a brick when it has no chance of going in. Many fan tweets joke about how Westbrook is always hitting brick shots.

Westbrook has managed to hit the side-board on a lot of shots this season. Therefore, fans have hilariously stated that they are convinced he is not aiming for the basket, but aiming for the side-board.

Westbrook takes a lot of pull-up jumpers in the game. Driving towards the left side of the basket, suddenly stopping and shooting the ball used to be one of his signature moves. However, fans are now fed up with this shot since he keeps missing them every time.

All in all, fans are sick of Westbrook’s antics. They feel he has not adjusted well with the Lakers’ outfit and they have clearly expressed their displeasure with him and have asked the higher-ups to trade him.

Fans also don’t like how Westbrook screws up the game and then proceeds to blame the fans in the post-game interviews for not being supportive.
