Los Angeles Lakers superstar LeBron James always manages to astonish spectators with his on-court skills. When you have been in the league for almost two decades, you somehow lose the element of surprise. By that duration, fans get accustomed to your presence and usually have a fair idea of your game and playing style. However, the same cannot be said for King James. Every now and then, LeBron pulls a move that ends up surprising sports fans across the board. This time round, Brooklyn Nets superstar Kevin Durant and rapper 2 Chainz were rendered speechless by James’ surreal showing.

The Los Angeles Lakers are currently placed 13th in the Western Conference. While the Lakers might not be having their best run this season, LeBron James is surely turning heads with his performance at the brink of his 38th birthday.

The Los Angeles Lakers played against the Orlando Magic on December 27 at Amway Center. The highlight of the game was King James’ mid-air spin that induced surprised reactions from just about everyone, including Kevin Durant and 2 Chainz. Both dropped comments on a short clip highlighting the shot. In the video, the commentators can be heard talking about the ‘difficult attempt’, stressing the fact that it was not an easy shot to make, especially ‘spinning in the air’.

In the comments, KD wrote, “Hesi to the fade was tough as nails”

Whereas, 2 Chainz wrote, “Bruuuuu this second slide I ain’t never seen before my life Killa.”

The 18x NBA All-Star led the team to a 129-110 win scoring 28 points, seven rebounds, and five assists. Teammate Thomas Bryant added 21 points, 10 rebounds, and one assist. Lakers guard Russell Westbrook scored 15 points, 13 rebounds, and 13 assists. The Lakers would be needing similar performances from the Akron Hammer consistently to keep their playoffs aspirations alive, especially in the absence of Kevin Durant.

Interestingly, James and 2 Chainz go way back. When LeBron surpassed NBA legend Michael Jordan in the all-time NBA scorer list, the rapper had gifted him a ridiculously expensive item. But that’s not the only time they had met.

In 2019, before 2 Chainz gave LeBron James his diamond chain as a token of appreciation, the duo had collaborated on a rap album. The album was named Rap or Go to the League. In an interview with Vanity Fair, the four-time NBA Finals MVP revealed why he chose to work with 2 Chainz.

He said, “Anything I do has to be organic to me, and I wouldn?t be who I am today without music. My love for music, my love for hip-hop music . . . what it does for me in my training, what it?s done for me in my life . . . There are days I?ve gotten through because of music?great artists who?ve been able to use their penmanship to get me through days. So this was just organic to me.”
