However, there have been times when people have been inspired by Rodman’s style. The world of wrestling was recently a witness to this.

It shouldn’t come as a surprise that Rodman is an influential figure. While the narrative surrounding him has largely been negative, there have been those who have looked up to Rodman. Tennis star Nick Kyrgios is one of them. Rodman has injected people with the confidence to simply be themselves without worrying about the opinions of others. For many, Rodman was the pathway to live fearlessly and boldly.
Lee Moriarty on Dennis Rodman
AEW Wrestler Lee Moriarty was featured on Chris Jericho’s podcast, ‘Talk is Jericho’. Moriarty opened up about the whole process behind his decision to dye his hair. He stated the billionaire and AEW founder, Tony Khan, approached him with this idea. Supposedly, Tony Khan didn’t say Dennis Rodman’s name out loud.

Moriarty said, “So he basically referenced Rodman, and the idea was that it was Dennis Rodman.” The idea behind this move was to channel a Dennis Rodman-like energy into Moriarty. As seen in Rodman’s past, his fashion style and ability to express himself helped him be more energetic. “Dennis Rodman was the enforcer of the group, this intense guy,” said Moriarty.
According to Moriarty, the aim was to help Moriarty drive out more energy from within and make him come off as an intense individual. What also helped him was the similarity he drew between Rodman and himself. In the podcast, Moriarty quoted a sentence that Rodman conveyed on the Netflix docuseries The Last Dance.’ In one of the episodes, the five-time NBA champion spoke about the Jordan Rule that the Detriot Pistons had drawn up.

The rule was that “Every time he (Michael Jordan) go to the f****’ basket, put him on the ground.” For Moriarty, this line was very relatable because he states that putting people on the ground is his job. Much like Rodman, Moriarty aims to amp up his style so that people see him for who he is.
