A recent mural of Mavericks star Luka Doncic by artist Preston Pannek in Dallas became an immediate sensation on the Internet. The artwork in Deep Ellum led to a lot of interesting chatters on social media after it portrayed Doncic holding a sign that read, “PLEASE SEND HELP.” In addition to the three-time All-Star’s picture, his epic performances this season were also in focus, including the unbelievable triple-double where Doncic scored 60 points, ten rebounds, and 21 assists against the New York Knicks a while ago. However, the mural resulted in an unexpected reaction from the billionaire Mavericks owner Mark Cuban. Now, the Mavericks star’s controversial artwork has been taken down after a furious call out from Cuban.

The Mavericks owner expressed his displeasure in a recent email he sent to the artist Preston Pannek after the mural became viral across social media platforms. In the email, Cuban seemed to be offended by Doncic’s controversial mural and deemed it a ‘disrespectful’ act. After the frustrated email from Mark Cuban, a response from Doncic has led to the Dallas artist taking down his mural.

The artist Preston Pannek recently took to his Instagram account House Of Pannek, to inform the fans that he blacked out his mural of Luka Doncic after the Mavericks star reached out to him. In House of Pannek‘s recent post on Instagram, Pannek wrote, “It was never my intention to offend our @dallasmavs players…My only intention was to express my frustration with the front office. After millions of shares/views/likes, I believe I got my point across.”

Moreover, Pannek added,?“Over the last 2 days, @lukadoncic , has reached out and expressed his love for our other murals in Deep Ellum. However, he has a different message for Dallas and the Mavericks fans. Today I blacked out the old mural and Luka Doncic and I will be collaborating over the next couple of weeks to bring a new one.”

Pannek took down the mural after a request from Luka Doncic himself who intends to spread a different message to the Dallas Mavericks fans. As a result, Doncic has promised to collaborate with Pannek to work on a different kind of artwork that will send a positive message to the fans. The move from the Dallas artist was triggered after Mavericks’ owner Mark Cuban sent an email to him.

Preston Pannek reckoned that Mark Cuban expressed his concerns about the controversial Doncic mural in an email. As per the email, Cuban wrote, ?It?s disrespectful. But it?s your choice to do what you want. If that?s the way you want to be a fan. Go for it.?

However, the billionaire owner of the Mavericks refrained from reacting to the message depicted by the mural. At the same time, Cuban also praised the artist’s previous works. Mark Cuban stated,??I appreciate the other murals you have done. You truly have artistic talent.”
