Dwyane Wade and his wife Gabrielle Union have been making powerful waves in the entertainment industry. Apart from storming the events with their stunning outfits, Wade also made a passionate statement in support of his daughter Zaya at the Met Gala. Following the event, the couple continued their parental duties as they flew to Africa to support their son Zaire as the 21-year-old continues to make waves in the Basketball Africa League.

Zaire currently plays for the Cape Town Tigers in the Basketball Africa League (BAL). The former G-League standout became an official member of the team after impressive performances during the BAL showcase back in January. Moreover, he credited his dad for letting him take this huge decision. Now, when the proud parents expressed their emotions for Zaire, the 21-year-old also reacted.

Hours after the Met Gala event, Wade and Union flew to Africa to catch up with Zaire for his upcoming game. The couple shared a heart-warming video and a photograph of meeting their son. Gabrielle Union posted a photo of hugging her son on her Instagram story and penned an emotional caption.

She wrote, “I’m so glad we can be here with you. To say I’m proud of the man you are becoming would be a massive understatement. Family over everything.”

Following that, the Miami Heat legend shared a wholesome video including Zaire’s highlights reel, Wade’s reactions from courtside, and emotional hugging scenes. The caption of the post read, “We show up ‼️ “

In response to his dad’s Instagram post, Zaire took to the comments and wrote, “My why,” with a brown heart. Dwyane Wade and Union have been constantly proving their greatness as parents with their continued efforts to make their children’s lives better.

While addressing the press at the event, Dwyane Wade opened up about the reason for leaving Miami and settling in California. He said, “Well, first of all, I left for a lot of reasons …I left to support my wife in LA. One of our decisions was where (it) was gonna be the safest and best community for our daughter, Zaya.”

Miami’s done so much for me… but the last couple of years, the laws and the politics has really become this big conversation… It’s unsafe for my daughter…I couldn’t move back.” His daughter Zaya came out as transgender in 2020 and her parents have been supportive of her decision since then.
