O’Neal’s new undertaking with HBO, dubbed ‘SHAQ’, attempts to explore all the highs and lows of his illustrious career. ‘SHAQ’ is a four-part mini-documentary series that covers the different phases of O’Neal’s storied life sequentially. A glimpse of the much-anticipated show was revealed in the new cinematic trailer.

Shaquille O’Neal reveals the reason behind making a documentary at the age of 50
In the recent episode of ‘The Big’ podcast, Shaquille O’Neal shared his thoughts about the new documentary. When one of the co-hosts of the podcast, Nischelle Turner, asked O’Neal, “why now?”, the Big Diesel went on to reveal the real reason behind the project and the timing of the release.
Shaq started off his monologue by stating that he is a ‘character’ and that all his life, he wanted to be the ‘Superhero.’ However, O’Neal revealed now that he is older, he believes it is imperative to show everyone the full picture that often slips from the limelight.

The Big Aristotle said, “Now that I’m older, it’s time to let you know the secrets on how he [referring to himself] became…how he became, how his thought process is like this, how did he persevere through this, how did he overcome this, is he this, is he that?” O’Neal and the team at HBO have attempted to do just that with the current production.
Judging from the three-minute trailer HBO released last week, one can expect an overarching coverage of O’Neal’s historic career. From the looks of it, the show will cover his journey to the NBA, his stint with the Lakers, his twilight years, retirement, and more. Moreover, the trailer also included a lineup of notable names like Dwayne Wade, Phil Jackson, and Pat Riley.
