As much as the NBA fans love to watch Shaquille O’Neal play, they love to listen to Shaq analyze the sport as well. The former MVP has garnered a lot of popularity co-hosting the show Inside the NBA. Though many have lauded the big man for giving his unfiltered opinions, some of his opinions have landed Shaq in controversy. O’Neal’s weekly segment on Inside the NBA named ‘Shaqtin’ a Fool’ is one such endeavor that has caused problems for him. The show emphasizes humorous and often failed plays in the NBA. However, Shaq had involved himself in a feud with a former Los Angeles Lakers star after the latter was constantly featured in Shaqtin’ a Fool for a long time.

One of the major reasons behind Shaqtin’ a Fool’s infamy is the fact that it triggered a feud between O’Neal and JaVale McGee. Shaq has constantly thrown jibes at McGee in his show. Displeased at the constant taunting, the former Lakers star took the issue to Twitter and spoke up against the big man. Apparently, the two NBA stars had an heated exchange on Twitter. After the altercation subsided with the involvement of some peacemakers, McGee has again spoken on the issue in an episode of Draymond Green‘s podcast.

The latest episode of Draymond Green’s podcast featured his former Warriors teammate JaVale McGee. The old friends spoke about a myriad of things, ranging from McGee’s time at the Warriors to his Grammy nomination for a Justin Bieber song. Even though the duo spend most of the time reminiscing warm memories, McGee had to speak about his unhappy feud with Shaquille O’Neal.

Dray asked McGee about the whole Shaqtin’ a Fool controversy. The 3x-NBA Champion revealed that he feels he was unnecessarily dragged into the show. According to McGee, Shaq and co had ridiculed him for minor mistakes such as missing a layup going coast to coast.

Revealing his utter displeasure, McGee referred to Shaq and said “Your reach is global, like the kids in the villages in China know who Shaq is. So the fact that you keep putting out this narrative about me… first of all my first question is, do I know somebody you know that you feel a certain type of way about something… “

“And the second part is, why do you do this to another Black man? I don’t see you uh the White athletes in the league, I don’t see you hitting at them every time.” In fact, the Dallas Mavericks star also admitted that he stood up to Shaq on Twitter after getting tired of being the butt of O’Neal’s jokes.

In 2017, while McGee was playing for the Warriors he decided to put an end to the big man’s jibes. The 3x-NBA champion went to Twitter and said what he felt like saying. McGee had asked Shaq to get off of him. He wrote the words ‘get off my’ and posted some peanut emojis in the tweet.

On the back of this, the two NBA stars had started a heated exchange, and eventually, Shaq had decided to refrain himself from ridiculing McGee again. It is true that Shaq has not got on McGee’s head again, but the latter feels that the big man’s taunts have wreaked havoc in his career.
