Recently, during a segment of NBA on TNT, the four-time champion asked his co-host Kristen Ledlow to debut his brand new nickname, which made the veteran reporter very uncomfortable, showing extreme hesitation before finally saying it. Meanwhile, this wish of the Big Diesel grabbed the attention of fans on the Internet and made them absolutely lose it on social media.

Shaq is one of the funniest personalities in the basketball world. The Los Angeles Lakers legend could reach any extent to put a smile on his fans’ faces. Therefore, lately, the now 50-year-old wanted Ledlow to debut his new nickname on national TV, inspired by the name of the Dallas Mavericks legend Dirk Nowitzki, but with a little twist.

In a clip from NBA on TNT shared by Ledlow herself on Twitter, Shaq could be seen asking the sports anchor to debut his new nickname. Initially, the 35-year-old anchor hesitated to call the Big Diesel by his new nickname. She even said, “I’m not saying it.” But eventually, she had to concede to Shaq’s demands. During that whole process of convincing her, the Big Man hide his face behind a paper, refusing to continue with the show.

Ledlow finally introduced Shaq with his new nickname ‘Dark Nowitzki’ and burst out laughing. The nickname resembled the name of the 2011 champion Dirk Nowitzki but just with a difference in spelling. Following the nickname debut, both? Ledlow and Shaq high-fived.

Meanwhile, shortly after Ledlow shared the clip, fans flooded Twitter with their jokes and reactions on the Big Aristotle’s bizarre new nickname. They were armed with a overflow of jokes and material for banter. Both Ledlow and Shaq received immense amounts of love from the fans. From the comments, it was evident that the fans had a good laugh. One fan was relieved that the whole fiasco didn’t involve further drama regarding his new hairline.
