For Draymond Green, the genie has already come out of the bottle. There is no putting it back now for him. The Golden State Warriors veteran is under fire for an altercation between him and Jordan Poole. A day after the news first broke, TMZ released exclusive footage of the incident which took place during a Warriors practice session.

The video showed Green getting into Poole’s face and punching him after getting pushed by the latter. Fans were disappointed in Draymond, as he is widely considered to be amongst the leaders of the team.

And it has since come out that the leaker was given around $50-100k by TMZ for the video. This has led to fans being befuddled by the amount being touted on social media. Many are calling it “not enough”. However much the amount was, the video has undoubtedly made a bad scenario worse for Green and the Warriors organization.

Till last week, all discussions were geared toward the Warriors being among the favorites to win it all over again. This controversy has likely left the environment in the locker room tense between the players.

Draymond Green has apologized publicly for the altercation

Draymond Green has since issued a public apology for the incident. He said, “I’m going to continue to stay away, as I’ve been away, and continue to do work on myself, but also just give guys space. I do want to give my team some space, I want to give Jordan some space, and then also take a few days and continue to work on myself … take some time to let everything breathe.”?

He had already apologized to Jordan Poole and his teammates privately after Wednesday’s incident. Today, again, he apologized to Poole and his family. Green has said that he was embarrassed after seeing the video.

The video did not have any sound, hence there has been no clear reason given on how this started. But speculations are rife on this being about their respective contract situations. Poole is eligible for a rookie extension while Green is eligible for a player option at the end of the season.
