However, there were times when Barkley could have avoided trouble if he had just literally held back his punches.?

Charles Barkley, who grew up in the harsh streets of Leeds, Alabama, developed a thick skin early on in his life. He faced a similar fate in 1997 when he was strolling the bars of Orlando with his friend Clyde Drexler. Incidentally, when Barkley and Co were having a good time on one of the counters, they were suddenly drenched in what seemed like alcohol. In an interview with the Next Round last year, Barkley harped on the bizarre incident.?

He narrated what happened next, “I turn around, and this motherf****r starts running, and I chased his a** down, I grabbed him, and I said, ‘Man, what the f**k were you doing….can’t let it go; I can’t let it go’…. I just rammed his a** through it”.?

Soon after, the cops showed up, and Barkley was arrested and taken to the courtroom. However, his stand-up nature prevailed even before the judge, as he admitted feeling regret for a shocking reason after the incident.

That night Barkle was charged with aggravated battery and resisting arrest without violence. Subsequently, he was jailed in the Orange County prison before getting bailed out by his then-Houston Rockets teammate. Around seven in the morning, Chuck walked out of prison on a hefty $6000 bail.?

Incidentally, the man who suffered Barkley’s wrath that night looked for ‘justice’. Consequently, Sir Charles was ordered to appear in front of a judge. When asked if he had any regrets, he notoriously said,?“Yea I regret we were on the first floor.”
