The eldest son of LeBron James, Bronny James, is a talented guard who currently plays for Sierra Canyon High School. Rocking jersey number 0 instead of 23, he revealed the reason why he chose not to wear his father’s jersey number while playing during his high school years. Bronny is currently in high school and is yet a very highly touted recruit. His games are often televised on National TV. However, before he decides to declare himself for the NBA draft, there still are some areas where Bronny could improve his game.
Bronny chose Westbrook over LeBron James
Being the son of LeBron James, one would assume that he would choose to wear the number 23 on his jersey. Instead, Bronny chose to wear number 0 out of respect for one of his favorite players growing up, Russell Westbrook.
As soon as the news broke out, fans absolutely ripped Bronny to shreds for picking Westbrook over his own father, LeBron James.
One fan tweeted, “So this is why they won’t trade Westbrook.”

Here are some more reactions from Twitter.
im sure if you look at Russell Westbrook highlights in high school they are nowhere near as flashy as Bronnie’s and im a huge Russ fan but it just goes to show how this game is evolving.

Russell Westbrook during his prime
Russell Westbrook may be beyond his prime but is still doing everything in his power to help the Los Angeles Lakers. Having been a starting point guard for all his life, Westbrook took a smaller role to help the team win. He may have had a poor start to the season but has since picked up. For Bronny to idolize Westbrook is not something that should be considered outrageous. Westbrook was a beast in his prime.

Not only did he break Oscar Roberston’s record for most triple-doubles in NBA history, but he also averaged those numbers for three complete seasons. Westbrook was by far one of the most explosive point guards there was. His speed and athleticism were a problem not just for other point guards but the opposing team’s centers as well.
Russ did not shy away from contact and made it a habit to posterize anyone who got in his way. No wonder Bronny idolizes Westbrook.
