As it turns out,?Stephen Curry’s injury?was only the tip of the iceberg. The?Golden State Warriors?made just one move during the trade deadline. Notably, the four-team deal saw Gary Payton II return to the Bay. However, he failed his physical tests, which revealed a core muscle injury. The news erupted with the move in jeopardy. Despite the significant concerns, the reigning champions are finalizing the trade. But not without precaution. Notably, with GP II’s potential injury, they might go after an ex-Los Angeles Lakers?star to replace him.
The Lakers have arguably been the most followed franchise this season. Their chapter so far has remained the same. The Purple and Gold are fighting to make a run for the play. After long pleas for a trade, they finally caught up. They strengthened their shooting by trading away Russell Westbrook and a few other players. One of their moves also saw them bring Mo Bamba in exchange for Patrick Beverley.

Surprisingly, the Orlando Magic revealed they are waiving the NBA veteran according to Chris Haynes. Coming in to pick up the pieces, the Warriors want anything close to GPII.
Warriors join the chase for Patrick Beverley
Beverley has been a fighter almost all his career. His reputation is enough to precede him as a leader. In addition, the former Los Angeles Clippers star is also a defensive irritant. Pat Bev will stay in the opponent?s grill all night long. He brings in a burst of energy enough to fire up the troops. The 34-year-old has also made a name for his antics. He is primarily responsible for picking a bone with the best players. While this could fire back, Beverley never steps down from a challenge.
With a dying need for improvement in defense, the Warriors have him on his radar. While not exactly Gary Payton II, Beverley?s impact falls similarly. The news sparked a major war among the fans.

Like GPII, Beverley is a defensive anchor. The 6’2″ guard is quick on his feet and can cover the spaces. His most impactful trait is arguably his shooting. Notably, Beverley could fit right into the Warriors’ offense that kills their opposition with threes. While he doesn’t have the aerial gifts of Payton II, the former Lakers star fights for every possession. Besides Draymond Green, his leadership could serve as a major plus for the younger players on the roster.
