The Los Angeles Lakers have had a slow start to the 2022-23 season. The Lakers have a disappointing record of 0-4 and are placed at the bottom of the Western Conference. The team’s previous head coach, Frank Vogel, was let go by the top management because of a disastrous 2021-22 season. The new head coach, Darvin Ham, has failed to improve the team so far. However, his new adjustment involving guard Russell Westbrook against the Timberwolves tonight may change the team’s fortunes.

The NBA insider from ESPN, Adrian Wojnarowski reported a few hours ago that the All-star point guard Russell Westbrook will be coming off the bench against the Minnesota Timberwolves tonight.
Russell Westbrook is expected to come off the bench tonight
Woj came out with breaking news regarding the Los Angeles Lakers lineup tonight. He reported that according to sources, the Lakers will bring the former MVP, Russell Westbrook, off the bench for tonight’s game against Karl Anthony Towns and the Minnesota Timberwolves.
Russell Westbrook, the 9x All-star point guard, will lead the second unit and be the primary ball-handler for the team when the starters are resting. The above report is major news for Lakers fans. Darvin Ham, the new head coach, has finally decided to make some changes to the roster and try to end the losing streak of the Lakers, who are now 0-4.
The Los Angeles Lakers currently have three active point guards on their roster, Russell Westbrook, Patrick Beverly, and Dennis Schroder. However, all three guards have failed to contribute to the team’s winning. Russell Westbrook is the primary ball-handler on most of the Laker’s possessions. But Westbrook is having one of the worst seasons of his career this season. His efficiency has fallen to historic lows. Consequently, the poor efficiency of Westbrook, combined with his turnovers as a primary ball-handler has made the Lakers one of the most inefficient teams in the NBA.
NBA fans react to new Lakers decision
The Lakers are looking at changing that tonight by bringing Westbrook off the bench. He will be responsible for leading the charge for the second unit. Westbrook coming off the bench has been proposed by many fans and analysts as a solution to all the Lakers’ problems. After seeing this come to fruition, the Lakers fans had a lot to say on social media. Here are some of the reactions.
This is going to change everything. Wow, tremendous strategy. Championship incoming lmaoo

Really doesn't matter if he's off the bench or not. What matters is if the coaching staff allows him the freedom to create and play to his strengths. Put him in pick and rolls with spot up guys not with other players doing what he does but are even as good.

Russell Westbrook has massively underperformed for the Los Angeles Lakers so far. The acquisition of the former MVP has proven to be a disaster for the Lakers. The Lakers failed to make the playoffs last season. Despite having three All-Star level players in LeBron James, Anthony Davis, and Westbrook, many fans blamed Westbrook for the Laker’s failure and wanted him out in the off-season. But the Laker’s Management failed to trade him as they couldn’t find any suitors who would take on his exorbitant contract.
