“This Hurt My Soul”: Vanessa Bryant’s Emotional Note to Her “Pablo” and Kobe Bryant Prediction Coming True Leaves NBA World Teary Eyed

When the two-time NBA champion and the six-time All-Star, Pau  Gasol joined the Los Angeles Lakers fifteen years ago, he immediately turned the Lakers into a contender for the championship. The rest is history – he and Kobe Bryant went on to win the coveted gold trophy twice. Lately, the Los Angeles Lakers honored the Spaniard by retiring his No. 16 jersey right next to Bryant’s jersey. However, one fascinating thing is that the Black Mamba forecasted the future of the Meal Train years before the purple and gold decided to commemorate him.

Through the social media page of the Lakers, Bryant’s wife, Vannesa Bryant, showcased the video of Bryant predicting Gasol’s future shortly after the Lakers honored him. In light of this, fans were left teary-eyed and expressed their thoughts in the comment section of the social media page.

Vanessa Bryant dedicated a video to Paul Gasol where Kobe Bryant predicted his future

Vanessa could be seen uttering a few words about Gasol and showcasing the said video in a recent post shared by the official Twitter handle of the Lakers. She started off the video by saying, “It is my honor to introduce my dear friend Pay tonight. Pau was special to Kobe as a teammate, as a man, and as a friend. Pablo, Kobe predicted you and he would be together in the rafters. Here’s a little video want you to watch.”

Subsequently, the video unveiled a clip of the five-time champion saying, “There’s no debate. Pau, when he retires, he will have his number in the rafters next to mine. The reality is, I don’t win those championships without Pau. The city of LA doesn’t have those two championships without Pau. So, we know that. Everybody knows that. I’ll be looking forward to the day when he’s there giving me his speech at center court in front of all the fans who have supported him over the years. It’s gonna be an awesome night.”

Bryant knew the mettle of the Mail Train and therefore wanted Gasol’s jersey beside his jersey in the rafters. And now, the Lakers fulfilled the wish of the five-time champion.
