The Brooklyn Nets? season finally seems to be sailing comfortably as they sit in the fourth position in their conference. However, they appear to be struggling to stay out of controversies. As recent as one week ago, the Nets were fined $25,000 for resting eight players against the Indiana Pacers. In a recent podcast appearance, Kevin Durant sat down to explain his thoughts on the incident and how the team looked at it from the inside.
KD was quick to mention how none of this was unexpected and why things like this occur. The Nets played nine games in 14 days, which could’ve been a contributing factor to so many players sitting out against the Pacers.

The league was certainly not happy with the Nets as they fined the team $25,000 for violating injury policies. In other words, the Nets failed to abide by the injury guidelines levied by the NBA, which are placed thinking about fans in the arena who usually purchase expensive tickets to witness their favorite superstars.
During a recent appearance on the Boardroom podcast, the 12-time All-Star was asked what he genuinely thought about the controversy. Additionally, what’s his opinion on fans’ disappointed reaction to the team sitting eight players out.
“I understand that you are expecting to see your favorite players out on the floor that night,” said Durant. He further added, “But that’s just how the NBA is, That’s just how sports is, you know some guys, when they get a chance to Maybe get a day here, that’ll help them. You know, in the long run, they’re gonna use it and we’ve known this has been the system in the league for a while now.“
KD further pleaded the fans to understand their side of the story. Additionally, he mentioned how in such a stressful schedule, the players will take off time when they can.

Durant’s words have definitely some weight in them, especially considering the young squad had a good win against the Pacers. They defeated the Pacers 136-133 with eight of their starters out of the squad. This would certainly boost the confidence of the side in this roller-coaster of a season, as the KD-Kyrie pair slowly settles in.
