According to a tweet shared by ESPN, to quote Durant himself, “when a player can kinda dictate where he wants to go and leave in free agency or demand a trade, it’s just a part of the game now. So I don’t think it’s just a bad thing, it’s bringing more and more excitement to the game.”

Kyrie Irving also weighed in on the matter. Irving said, “Why doesn’t anyone have the ability to ask for trades? That’s my question.” According to Irving, you are not going to get along with every employer. He further stated that “so if you have the chance to go somewhere else and you’re doing it legally, I don’t think there’s a problem with it.”
