The Toronto Raptors (16-22) played against the Milwaukee Bucks (25-13) tonight at the Scotiabank Arena. While Giannis Antetokounmpo’s Bucks maintained a good lead throughout the game, the course changed within 3 minutes. The Raptors erased a 21-point lead to tie the score. They drove the game to overtime, a game that the Bucks could have won easily weren’t it for the Raptors’ sudden dominance. Unfortunately, their hot streak couldn’t find an extension in the OT. The Bucks won 104-101.

The NBA world, along with Philadelphia 76ers Joel Embiid was trying to make head or tail of the situation. Embiid wrote, “This bucks raptors game is just stupid and doesn’t make sense“.

The NBA world had a hard time swallowing reality when the Toronto Raptors took control of the game. They displayed out their curiosity on social media. Here are some of the reactions:

According to an NBA reporter, Josh Lewenberg the game as one of the “strangest” games. He wrote, “The Raptors started 2-for-30 and scored 12 points in the first 14+ minutes. They closed regulation on a 28-7 run in 3 minutes and erased a 16-point deficit in 1:14 to force OT. The result: another loss, their 13th in the last 18 games.

The man of the hour, however, was Gary Trent Jr. Amidst a roaring crowd, he pulled an insane shot that tied the score 97-97. He finished the game with 22 points, 5 rebounds, and 3 assists.

Giannis Antetokounmpo has another field day

The Greek Freek, following a career-high of 55 points, 10 rebounds, and 7 assists against the Washington Wizards, put up great numbers tonight as well. He finished the game with 30 points, 21 rebounds, and 10 assists. This is the third time that Giannis Antetokounmpo had a 30/20 game this season, which also marked the most in his career.

His stats were also the highest in the history of the Milwaukee Bucks franchise. The only other person to clock in such numbers was Kareem Abdul-Jabbar in the 1973-74 season.
