There is heartbreaking news coming out of central Turkey and northwest Syria, as more than 4000 people have been killed in an earthquake that struck late on Monday night. In response, many countries around the world have offered relief aid and rescue workers to the people of Turkey and Syria. Sports stars and Hollywood celebs joined together to pray for the victims after this shocking news broke. Former NBA star Scottie Pippen‘s ex-wife Larsa joins millions of others in mourning the tragic news.

In her social media post, she mentioned the news, with a caption that read, “This breaks my heart”. Due to the magnitude of the quake, it is considered one of the most powerful events to happen in the region for a century. Buildings crumbled during this 7.8 magnitude earthquake, resulting in many people being injured and the death toll is still rising.
On the day of a 7.8 magnitude earthquake in the early morning of winter, a 7.7 magnitude earthquake followed in the middle of the day. There are rescuers on the scene searching for survivors. Additionally, the pictures and videos being shared on social media from the incident are making the whole world dejected. Besides this, other sports players have sent their prayers as well.

Turkey and Syria have been devastated by this natural disaster
According to reports coming out of Turkey alone, more than 5,600 buildings have been destroyed. According to reports from the Associated Press, United Nations spokesman Stephane Dujarric said 224 buildings were destroyed in Syria and 325 at least were damaged.
