Due to his massive physical stature, a young Shaq often faced trouble finding apparel of his size, which often made his father frown. To make sure no one else has to go through what he went through as a kid, O’Neal expressed how he once helped an NFL aspirant who had been facing similar troubles.

A few years back, it was reported that Shaquille O’Neal helped a young boy who was having difficulty finding shoes of his size due to his massive physique. Recently O’Neal went into detail about the story.

In an interview with Today, Shaq explained how he reached out to Eric Kilburn Jr, who could not get his hands on shoe size 23. When O’Neal learned about the situation on social media, he wrote, “I got you, big man.” The Big Diesel came to the rescue of young Eric as he sent him five pairs of Reebok Sneakers and some clothing. Shaq even sent his tailor to Kilbern’s home to ensure that the apparel fits him perfectly.

Seeing the 4x NBA champion making sure the youngster doesn’t go through the same adversity he faced 34 years ago was heartening. Shaq had gotten familiar with his father’s strict parenting style. “I grew up in a very tough environment … a lot of my father’s tactics would be frowned upon now. But it worked for me.”

The 4x NBA champion is one of the most prominent philanthropists in the country, but surprisingly, his mother is not a fan of his charity for one weird reason.

Lucille O’Neal revealed that she doesn’t admire Shaq’s charitable actions as she doesn’t like her son bragging to people around him about charity. One would assume it’s alright to talk about the positive consequences of one’s actions. But according to Mama O’Neal, talking about how much you have or how much money you give away is not intelligent.

Nonetheless, O’Neal is not just charitable, but he is a great entrepreneur. Shaq has established a massive business empire and his net worth has sky rocketed to $600 million.
