Though the 4x- NBA champion ended up making raunchy jokes about his stay at the hospital, many fans are still longing to hear more from their hero.

Like a bolt from the blue, a picture of Shaquille O’Neal lying in a hospital bed hit the internet and wreaked havoc among the NBA fandom. Millions of admirers chimed in with anxious thoughts on O’Neal’s health. Despite slowly recovering from a major surgery, Shaq did not fail to make others laugh, saying he was at the hospital for a BBL.

The Lakers legend later revealed that he was undergoing a hip surgery. In his recent interview on the ‘Fluent and Chill’ podcast, the Big Aristotle addressed numerous topics pertaining to the NBA and the NCAA. At one point, one of the hosts brought up Shaq’s hospitalization and surgery rumors. Shaq was quick to respond with the BBL joke. Moments later, the superstar addressed his fans.

Shaq admitted that he made the BBL joke in the first place to contain the anxiety of his diehard fans. “We had some time off and I had to get this hip surgery. But right, all the people that were concerned, thank you. But I am doing fine,” said Shaquille O’Neal, addressing his heart-broken fans.

Fans go through a rollercoaster of emotions

The Big Aristotle’s supporters have not had the best of times recently. Following Shaq’s hip surgery, any update on the legend has left fans unsettled. The superstar took to Instagram and shared a video of him walking inside a gym with the help of crutches. Though it is a good sign that the former NBA champion is back on his feet, seeing Shaq use crutches, troubled a plethora of his fans. However, some lauded the legend’s endeavour and wished him luck to bounce back stronger.
