All the hardcore NBA fans will be aware of this infamous incident of the 1998 Chicago Bulls camp. Ever since the release of the docuseries The Last Dance, fans are coming up with their own theories regarding it. The infamous Michael Jordan-Carmen Electra Vegas incident has captured the imagination of NBA fans for a long time. Dennis Rodman’s then-agent Dwight Manley once unveiled the misconception surrounding the incident.

In a 2020 article, Manley revealed that he was with Rodman when the incident took place. Before we dive in to Manley’s response, let us understand the context. The Worm left to Las Vegas during the play off and didn’t return to practice within the expected time. Eventually MJ and Chicago Bulls coach Phil Jackson had to go to Vegas to get him back.

Manley was an unlikely choice for an agent as Rodman hired a world-renowned coin collector as his agent, who also happened to his friend.
Dennis Rodman’s agent opened up about the Michael Jordan-Carmen Electra Vegas issue
Michael Jordan had revealed his disagreement with Jackson’s decision to send Rodman to Las Vegas on numerous occasion. When Scottie Pippen returned to the camp after his injury, Jackson felt that Rodman deserved the 48 hour break. Ultimately, Dennis the Menace returned and helped the Bulls win their second three peat.

Manley sided with Rodman on the incident, as he said, “They’re telling this story in a slanted way. He didn’t go six days in the middle of the season they were playing and he wasn’t“.
He further added, “It’s hard to remember everything perfectly.”
Manley pointed out that everyone has their own version of the story. So, it’s difficult to pin-point exactly what happened, especially since the events took place so long ago.
The Worm’s the girlfriend Carmen Electra revealed that she accompanied Rodman during his expedition to the Sin City. She had to hide behind the couch when MJ came to drag Dennis to the game. The incident was vividly recounted by the popular actress in the Netflix doucuseries.

Rodman’s 48-hour expedition to have a silver screen adaptation
A recent report stated that Lionsgate film production is all set to make an on-screen adaptation of Rodman’s infamous trip. The report also suggested that MCU star Jonathan Majors could play the lead. Majors last appeared in Marvel’s ‘Loki’ series.
He is expected to return in the same role for the upcoming MCU film ‘Antman and the Wasp: Quantumania.’
