The Phoenix Suns are experiencing a unique season where the moments of travesty outweigh the 31 wins. It all started when the former owner, Robert Saver, faced the heat of the public. This resulted from several reports of misconduct and toxic work culture around the ownership and front office. These allegations drove Saver to sell the team. Subsequently, the Suns dealt with injuries to key players, resulting in a multiple-game losing streak – leaving fans enraged. Amidst all this chaos, many individuals like Shaquille O’Neal believed that the on-court display of the Suns could not be blamed solely on injuries. Shaq, in particular, brought Kevin Durant into the picture.
Before the madness around the trade deadline commenced, The Big Podcast recorded its latest episode. The conversations on the podcast were about the trades, Durant, the Phoenix Suns, and more. While talking about the Suns, the four-time NBA champion had a lot to say.

Devin Booker, the franchise star, spent around a month away from the court. He had injured his groin, which pushed him into recovery mode. During this time, the Suns stumbled. They lost more than 11 games, and fights broke out on the bench. Amidst these troubling times, reports stated that the Suns were preparing a trade package to acquire Kevin Durant.
The podcast episode was recorded before the Durant trade. In the episode, Shaq claimed that Durant’s inclusion would help the team because more room would be created for Durant and Booker to make magic. He stated that the opposition would need help to create a defensive strategy with two stars on the team.

However, he added that “something’s going on in Phoenix.” While talking about the Suns’ on-court performance, Shaq said, “They playing like they’re fighting over a girl or something.” He added that he had seen this type of performance before. He stated that teams don’t go from 100 to 0 only because of an injury to one key player.

The four-time champion said, “There are some internal problems going on.” Shaq also added that Durant lost support in the Nets when Kyrie Irving left. He mentioned that it would be incredible if Durant helped the Nets win without the support of his “role player.” But the chances of this happening were slim. The Big Diesel believed that the two-time finals MVP’s chances to win a ring were very high with the Suns.
Since these comments were made, the Suns’ have won three games in a row. Devin Booker is back, and De’Andre Ayton is putting up the numbers. Additionally, the Suns’ ownership changed, and they acquired Durant.
