2 times NBA All-Star Ja Morant is all over the news for all the unfortunate reasons. Just months after he served an eight-game suspension following a gun controversy, the Memphis Grizzlies star is back to his old antics yet again. After the Grizzlies crashed out of the playoffs, Morant seemingly displayed a gun during an Instagram live stream again. However, this time it feels like the league is seriously considering suspending the Grizzlies star for quite a long period of time.
During a recent appearance on his podcast, former NBA star Gilbert Arenas chimed into the Morant debate. Unlike the majority of the NBA world, Arenas sided with Ja Morant. Moreover, he bashed the league association while also revealing an intriguing detail about Morant’s suspension.

Not everyone is bashing Ja Morant for his recent antics. Gilbert Arenas is one of them. Having faced the wrath of the NBA association for a gun scare during his playing days, Arenas knows all about the ugly situation Morant is in currently.
According to Arenas, the NBA commissioner and the association themselves cannot take action against Morant. The thought behind his reasoning was that whatever the Grizzlies star did was not illegal.
As a result, they will be putting some pressure on the Memphis Grizzlies to take action. According to Arenas and the rest of the crew at the Gil’s Arena podcast, this will be done to save the NBA’s global brand.
Arenas said, “They still gonna have to find a gun. Right? They still got to find a gun. Why do you think they investigate? So, once they finish investigating, they’re gonna say alright, we’re gonna suspend you. When he says no, it has to be Memphis!”
He added, “Right now, he’s suspended. He’s suspended for some sh** that don’t even exist!” Arenas is one of the handful of people to side with Morant. On the other hand, he has been receiving flak from all across the NBA world. From Shannon Sharpe to Charles Barkley, they all have bashed Ja Morant.
Morant lost out on a huge amount of money during suspension
